In fiscal year 2009, Iwate Prefecture launched the Iwate Manga Project to promote the diverse attractions of its culture, lifestyle, and scenery both domestically and internationally through the use of manga. The project includes initiatives such as the publication of the omnibus comic Comic Iwate, which features works related to Iwate, the distribution of manga through the official website Comic Iwate WEB, and the hosting of the Iwate Manga Award Contest. Through these efforts, Iwate aims to raise awareness of the prefecture among many people.

＼Booth Exhibition Contents／

The booth will feature manga-related exhibits, including the manga volume Comic Iwate supervised by the Governor of Iwate Prefecture. In addition, goods featuring “Oshu Taro,” the official mascot character of Oshu City designed by manga artist Sensha Yoshida, who hails from Oshu City in Iwate, will also be on sale.
